54 squares...
Yesterday I ironed all fabrics and cut out 54 squares. It wasn't so bad.....the squares are large. I have a rotery cuter but not a cutting mat or ruler so I didn't layer cut. I used my paper cutter to make a perfect square and traced it on the back of the fabric and cut each one at a time. I am some what excited about doing this quilt. I hope to decided on a layout today so I can start stitching them together to complete the quilt top.

That is a perfect beginners project. In fact I made a small square lap quilt for one of my first projects as well. The fabric you chose is beautiful! Very autumnal.
Keep posting your progress...you just might inspire me to try a small quilt!
Looks like its going to be beautiful!
Lovely project. Okay I'm tagging you! Need to list 7 things about yourself and then pick 7 other people to tag! Have fun!!
Thank you for visiting my blog! I'm so impressed with your sewing skills. The colors of those fall fabrics are great, and will make a beautiful quilt!
what beautiful fall fabrics!! Hope you post the finished product!
Nice autumn fabrics! I made a "bread cozy" for my bread basket out of a green similar to the one you have in this stack. A lap quilt sounds like a great project!
And thanks for visiting me and Thor!
That will be one gorgeous quilt. Keep us posted on your progress. What a fun blog!
